Membership
Become a library member
Membership is open to all registered students and staff, University Council members, and bona fide visitors.
- All registered students for the duration of their study period.
- All academic and administrative staff of the University.
- Members of University Council for their term of office.
- Non-academic staff on recommendation of their head of section.
- Visiting lecturers, research fellows and bona fide visitors (with a letter of introduction).
- Institutional membership through a formal written agreement.
Loan entitlements vary by membership category. Full details are provided at registration and in the library regulations.
How to join
1. Get your University ID
Ensure you have been issued with a Mzuzu University Identity Card.
2. Fill in the application form
Download the form and email it to ul@mzuni.ac.mw, or collect one at the library.
3. Register at the library
Bring your ID to complete registration in person and start borrowing.
Good to know
Rules & Regulations
Maintain silence in designated quiet areas, handle materials with care, and follow staff guidance. Food and drink are restricted in collection areas.
Return or renew items by the due date. Overdue Malawiana and Special Collections items attract a fine for every 2 hours or part thereof from the time due.
Items marked “FOR REFERENCE ONLY”, journals, audio-visual and electronic equipment are not to be taken out of the Library.
